Remembrance Day 2020 – Stone Painting

Date: 7th Nov 2020 Author: Adam Buckell

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic it will not be possible for our members to attend a Remembrance Day Parade.  This year we are remembering in a number of different ways, including a virtual service.

As part of our programme this term we have been painting stones as a remembrance activity.

You can see our stones next to the war graves in All-Saints Church in Banstead for the next 3 weeks, when they will be removed and put on display elsewhere.

We will remember them.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
