3rd Banstead Scout Expedition 2018

Twenty-four scouts from 3rd Banstead’s Marlborough and Churchill Troops took part in a weekend expedition to earn their Expedition Challenge Badge.

23 Scouts from Marlborough and Churchill Troops attended our seven night annual summer Scout Camp. This years camp was in the Forest of Dean at the Biblins Youth Campsite.

During the week, the scouts were responsible for setting up their tents and Patrol campsites, and preparing the majority of the meals for their Patrol (and the leaders) on open fires.

Scuba Scouts

3rd Banstead, Marlborough and Churchill Troops attended a PADI Discover Scuba Diving course at Lingfield.  The course included a short briefing on safety and equipment, followed by a 45 minute dive in the 3.5m deep pool.  All Scouts who attended had a fantastic time, with quotes including ‘that was awesome. District Cooking Competition

Members of 3rd Banstead Scout Group Churchill and Marlborough Troop’s took part in the District Cooking Competition.
The Scouts were competiting against Troops from around the Banstead District in the competition.  Scouts were required to prepare and cook a three course meal on an open fire.  The menu for the competition was a cold fish starter, chicken curry and lemon pancakes.
